When we were looking for interesting companies to visit at NAB 2019, a small company exhibiting in the Startup Pavilion called Holographics jumped out to us. Holographics has developed a software-based live graphics application that embraces web standards with CCS encoding to create and animate the titles and graphics it displays. There are some compelling advantages to this approach:
- It is resolution independent
- It can pull data from anywhere on the web to populate templates
- The graphics operator can work remotely (delivery is via a web page)
- It can integrate any assets that can display on a web page
In this video, we catch up with Floris Porro and Tom Verdenius from Holographics to discuss their approach to broadcast graphics in a bit more detail.
